The name Guam comes from the ancient Chamorro word "Guahan," meaning "we have." Guam, at present is an
Unincorporated Territory of the United States and is quickly becoming the most advanced community in this
area of the world. Guam hotels are situated mainly around the island's coast.

Guam Island covers an area of 541km sq and has a population of 150,000; the capital
of Guam is Hagåtña or Agana and the time zone is GMT/UTC +10. The
temperature in Guam tends to be around 27°C (81°F) all year, due to
this fact there are no preferred calendar dates.
The local people of Guam speak English and Chamorro and there tends to be a strong Roman
Catholic following throughout the country. The landscape is spectacular with clear blue
waters and first class Guam hotels are located on Tumon Bay.
Currency:
The local currency is US dollars with a basic budget meal costing within the range
of $3-10, and the more Deluxe meal costing $25+. These prices are based on the restaurants
within the Guam hotels.
Tourist attractions
The main attraction of Guam and is the surrounding sea; underwater visibility
is excellent which makes scuba diving a must and there are many different species of fish to look at and reefs to explore. Surfing,
Windsurfing and snorkelling are also popular attractions with the relevant equipment readily available for hire.
For the less energetic, there is the Atlantis submarine which takes the paying public on tours of
one of Guam's best reefs. For dry land sports you have a selection of golf courses and hiking
areas, especially at Tarzan Falls in central Guam.
The tourist centre of Guam is just up the beach from Hagatña or Agana
in Tumon Bay, if you get lost just look for the magnificent Guam hotels, clubs and restaurants.
Y'pao Beach Park is on the bay's southwest side and was once home to an ancient Chamorro village, as well as a leper
and penal colony. These days it's a popular fiesta site.

Agat Hotels - Agat Hotels can be found in the Agat Bay area on the south of Guam. One of the most popular of the Agat Hotels is the Inn on The Bay which is only a short distance from restaurants, grocery stores, shops, historical sites and parks.
